Originally released in 2018, Hillary Klug’s self-titled debut album features 17 old-time fiddle tunes and an exploration of one of her favorite parts of traditional fiddling: cross-tuning.
Hillary uses 15 different fiddle tunings throughout the album, ranging from traditional cross-tunings to unusual and invented tunings, with the guitar cross-tuned on several tracks as well. The entire album was recorded with the fiddle tuned around A=432 Hz, giving the recording its own distinctive resonance and character.
